The past two weeks at the Western Colorado MSW Program, students have had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and practice skills when it comes to integrated health and social work.
Ross Brooks, CEO of Mtn. Family Health Centers spoke on health care reform that the importance of knowing your community’s health data when it comes to lobbying for social change at the policy level. Nan Sundeen, MSW and Director of the Health and Human Services Dept. in Pitkin County, spoke about the skills that are specialized to MSW training especially in the regard of collaborative coalition building to tackle some of the most pressing social issues in the region, including access to health care.
